HEINZ STAMMBERGER RESIDENT (& Young Otolaryngologist) RESEARCH COMPETITION SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please note that only electronic submissions are accepted.

We are pleased to announce the “Heinz Stammberger Resident & Young Otolaryngologist Research Competition” that will be held during the upcoming 19th Annual Meeting of the Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology; Head and Neck Surgery from 19 – 21 April 2024.

Based on the quality of the submitted abstracts, the Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology (MEOTO Academy) will provide Travel Grants for the top 30 ORL candidates (1000 USD each, plus free registration) to support them in presenting their outstanding research in the meeting and to help them attend the 19th ME-OTO conference in Dubai.

If you are an ENT resident or a young otolaryngologist under the age of 32 (Date of Birth after Dec 31, 1991) and are interested in presenting your research at 19th Annual MEOTO Academy Meeting, please submit the abstract to us no later than 31 December 2023.

We will select the top 30 submissions to receive the sponsorship (1000 USD to cover expenses of travel and accommodation + free registration).

Moreover, the best research papers presented by the residents will receive the “Heinz Stammberger Resident Research Award’’ trophy and an additional cash prize.

Submission instructions for resident research competition:

  • Should be an ENT resident or a young otolaryngologist (less than 32 years old) as detailed above.
  • Good knowledge of English to present the study.
  • Fill in the required fields that include name, current position, institution, country, email and phone number
  • Include the title of the research work and the list of authors
  • Attach your structured abstract (less than 250 words) that includes the following subtitles: Background, Study type, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  • Attach a short Biography
  • Optional: Attach for the full article only if the study is already published.

E-POSTERS SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

To submit an abstract for e-poster, please read all of the instructions below:
Abstract submission deadline: 31 December 2023 – 11:59 PM GST.
Notification on Acceptance/Rejection: 31 January 2024 – 11:59 PM GST.

  • All accepted e-poster submitters will be entitled to receive a 30% discount on the registration (via discount code on a separate email) to support their attendance.
  • All Accepted e-posters will also *receive a prize of AED 500 in cash, onsite, to further support their participation to the conference
    *You should attend at least 70% of the conference sessions during 3 days, in order to receive AED 500 amount. The attendance will be checked based on badge scanning done during the conference days.
  • The presenting author of the submitted abstract should be registered for the conference before Tuesday, 20 February 2024
  • E- Poster Competition: After the end of E-poster presentations, the top 5 E-posters will be announced and each will receive additional AED 1000 prize in cash onsite.

  • All abstracts must be submitted in English using the online submission form.
  • Abstract submission for e-posters is open for all Otolaryngologists, as well as for students and interns working with Otolaryngology team.
  • Good knowledge of English to present the study.

  • Include the title of the research work and the list of authors
  • Attach your structured abstract for research (less than 250 words) that includes the following subtitles: Background, Study type, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Note: Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” without mentioning the actual results cannot be accepted).
  • Case reports or review posters are also acceptable (less than 250 words)

LECTURE PROPOSAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

You are invited to submit a summary of your Lecture Proposal for the 19th Annual Meeting of the Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology; Head and Neck Surgery, to be held from 19 – 21 April 2024, at the Event Centre, Dubai Festival City in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates.

This submission is intended for speakers with extensive experience in a specific topic or subspecialty (highly competitive). Speakers are required to submit a summary of their lecture along with updated CV.
Submission deadline: 31 October 2023 – 11:59 PM GST.
Notification on Acceptance/Rejection: 31 January 2024 – 11:59 PM GST.

Accepted speakers will be part of the conference faculty and will enjoy a free registration. Additional accommodation benefits may be granted depending on budget availability.

Submission instructions for Lecture Proposals:

  • Good knowledge of English is required to present your topic
  • Fill in the required fields that include name, current position, institution, country, email and phone number
  • Include the title of your lecture proposed
  • Attach a summary of your lecture proposal (less than 250 words)
